The Awarded Nejc Krevs Will No Longer Be A TV Presenter

After the former presenter of the main news programme on the national television – the show TV Dnevnik (TV Daily News), Nejc Krevs, had to say goodbye to the television studio when the new management of Radio-Television Slovenia (RTVS) came in, he now also has to say goodbye to his presenter position on the show Prvi Dnevnik (The First Daily News) on Television Slovenia. The excuse of the new management of the news programme of TV Slovenia for his dismissal from the position is that from now on, the news programme in question, which is broadcast at 1 p.m., will be hosted by the presenters of the evening news programme – and Krevs is not among them anymore.

And what is in the background of all of this is, of course, a reckoning with the staff who were promoted or came to RTV Slovenia under the previous RTV Slovenia management.

Nejc Krevs was also among them, and he became the presenter of TV Dnevnik under the previous administration. Along with him, Valentina Plaskan, who joined RTV Slovenia under the previous administration as well, also had to say goodbye to her spot as presenter of TV Dnevnik after the new administration took over the reins.

Both Krevs and Plaskan are this year’s winners of the Association of Journalists and Publicists award, which makes it all the more strange that they have been left without a presenter’s position.

Krevs had to say goodbye to his position as presenter of the show TV Dnevnik last September, when he was offered the spot of presenter of Morning News and The First Daily News at 1 p.m. “I have done this job in the past already, so I accepted the presenter’s position. But after three months, the decision was taken to have the presenters of the evening Daily News also present the news at 1 p.m. This means that there will be no more room for some presenters. However, such a system has already existed in the past, so I respect it,” Krevs told the media outlet N1.
