Miroslav Gregorič, one of the newly elected MPs from the Freedom Movement party (Gibanje Svoboda), headed by the new face of the left, Robert Golob, has shared scandalous posts on Twitter in which he expressed doubt about the Russian massacres in Bucha and did not even try to hide his support for Vladimir Putin’s invasion. Gregorič’s messages make even more sense with the recent information about Russia’s involvement in the Slovenian elections.
The newly elected MP from the newest left-wing party, the Freedom Movement, Miroslav Gregorič, shared scandalous tweets on Twitter that should not be tolerated by a party which considers “freedom” to be one of its basic principles.
Namely, freedom was taken away from numerous Ukrainians after the Russian aggression, and Gregorič apparently doubts that the massacres in Bucha even happened, and thus indirectly isn’t even trying to hide his support for Putin’s regime. This has once again proven that the left has a tendency to secretly make pacts with Russia, but some people are unable to conceal it.
The position of the left should be highlighted, especially now that the information about the involvement of Russia in the Slovenian elections has come up. In addition to the International Center Democratic Party IDC-CDI, the European People’s Party has also expressed concern in regard to these statements. The European People’s Party wrote that Slovenia expressed its unconditional support for Ukraine and was one of the first countries to condemn the barbaric Russian war in Ukraine. They also pointed out that Slovenian Prime minister Janez Janša was the first Prime Minister to visit Kyiv, thus bringing a message of hope and support to the Ukrainian people.
