Look At This Duplicitous POP TV Coverage Of The First 100 Days Of The Janša And Golob Governments!

“One hundred days of the Janša government: the first in the European Union to defeat the epidemic, re-establish a functioning economy, save jobs. One hundred days of the Golob government: one of the highest inflation rates in the European Union, political personnel changes and plans for an energy ‘lockdown,’” MP Andrej Hoivik from the Slovenian Democratic Party (Slovenska demokratska stranka – SDS) responded to the double standards in the reporting of the 24ur web portal.

The largest commercial television station POP TV and its website 24ur are not state-owned media outlets like Radio-Television Slovenia, but in spite of that, one would have expected a little more truthfulness and fewer double standards when it comes to reporting on the third government of Janez Janša and the government of Robert Golob. Such reporting is understandable in a way, given that the editorial policy is supposedly directed (from behind the scenes) by the “godfather” Drago Kos (who was a key player in the Depala vas affair in which attempts were made to destroy Janša). Let us also remind you that Marta Kos, who is Drago Kos’s sister, is the Vice President of the ruling party, the Freedom Movement (Gibanje Svoboda). This is the clan of the deep state or the so-called “left-wing privatisers” of the media sphere…

Meanwhile, Drago Kos’s wife, Tjaša Slokar Kos, is an editor at POP TV (news programme), and yet another comrade, Jure Tepina, is an editor at the inciting, vile web portal. So let’s list some of the real achievements of the Janša government: the anti-corona legislative packages had covered all citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, credit ratings were at an all-time high, the absorption of European Union funds had improved, the average lump sums paid to Slovenian municipalities had been raised, Slovenian diplomacy became much more active, the position of the Slovenian Armed Forces improved, and Slovenia was de-bureaucratised and moved forward in the process of digitalisation.

On the other hand, the Golob government is burdened by one of the highest inflation rates in the European Union, brutal political personnel changes, the announced winter energy lockdown for businesses, the disastrous fight against the coronavirus (Slovenia is ranked 1st in Europe in terms of the 14-day incidence), and instead of promoting vaccination, Golob would rather sell misguided shamanic advice about salt water, sunshine and vitamin D. He also wants to stifle the economy and consumption with new taxes (with the help of Minister of Finance, Klemen Boštjančič). And let us remind you of the removal of the fence at the border and the consequent enormous increase in illegal migration.

The government is anti-Slovenian: Minister Mesec is deliberately promoting catastrophic demographics!
Let us also remind you that the current government’s Minister of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Luka Mesec, abolished the much-needed Office for Demography, even though Slovenia is suffering from a demographic winter and the situation is extremely worrying, not least because of the relatively small population pool. And let’s not forget about the misguided energy policy – they want to solve the problem of electricity shortage by closing the Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant and then building solar power plants, which will not solve the problem. The solution is thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, and hydropower plants. The left is confusing the concern for the environment with the harmful left-wing green agenda, which is being abandoned even in Germany, where it was extremely popular.
