On Saturday, regional meetings of members and supporters of the Slovenian Democratic Party (Slovenska demokratska stranka – SDS) were held in the Goriška and Primorska regions. “The SDS party candidates have always been working and will continue to work as a team and working for one voice. This is the voice for Slovenia and our national interests. In two months’ time, this will be our biggest victory ever. The SDS party will further increase its strength in the next mandate,” said Member of the European Parliament Dr Milan Zver.
On Sunday, the 7th of April 2024, additional regional meetings were held in the Gorenjska Regional Coordination (in Cerklje, in the multi-purpose sports hall, at Krvavška cesta 4, 4207 Cerklje na Gorenjskem), and the SDS Ljubljana City Committee also met (in St Lenart’s Church, at Sostrska cesta 1, Ljubljana – opposite the church on the meadow). Both meetings started at noon.
Members of the Slovenian Democratic Party and candidates for the upcoming elections to the European Parliament also wrote about the regional meetings on their social media profiles. MEP Dr Milan Zver published a few links, at which people can see some photos and videos from Saturday’s meetings – these are available here: https://twitter.com/KarinPlaninsek/status/1776651395283685489, https://t.co/BM35Eeqshf, pic.twitter.com/I3h7cZpJ17
Meanwhile, Vice-President of the SDS party, former Minister and candidate for the upcoming European Elections, Aleš Hojs, wrote the following: “After an afternoon of socialising in the Primorsko-Kraška region with the President of the Ilirska Bistrica local Committee of the SDS party, Borut Rojc, we then also watched a basketball match between the locals and a team from Celje. We watched their fight for the first league. Ilirska Bistrica deserves a new sports hall. However, the Mayor, a member of the Freedom Movement party (Gibanje Svoboda), refuses to build one. Instead, he supports the local Jenulls – together with the New Slovenia party (Nova Slovenija).” Hojs also published a few games from the match.
Another candidate of the SDS party at the upcoming elections to the European Parliament and former Mayor of the Municipality of Maribor, Franc Kangler, thanked the people of the Goriška region for their warm welcome. “I will always fight for the development of regions that are often forgotten by Ljubljana and Brussels – it’s time to be heard.” He also tagged the current SDS MEP Romana Tomc in his post, and also published a video of his conversations with the people from the region.
