The Ministry of Finance received a letter of congratulations to Finance Minister Andrej Šircelj. In the letter the Vice President of the European Commission congratulated him on his success in reducing debt and record macroeconomic results.
At a press conference in Brdo pri Kranju, Prime Minister Janez Janša said that the Ministry of Finance had received a letter of congratulations from the Vice President of the European Commission in charge of macroeconomic stability throughout the Union. The letter was addressed to the Minister of Finance, Andrej Šircelj, in which the Vice President of the European Commission congratulated him on Slovenia’s success in reducing debt and positive macroeconomic results.
“The Vice President of the Commission congratulated the Slovenian Minister for the fact that Slovenia is among those countries that reduced the debt ratio the most last year and that we had record macroeconomic positive results,” said the Prime Minister. “The last of the four credit rating agencies also rated Slovenia stable with an A rating and a descriptive rating regarding the future,” Janša added.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Slovenia has a stable A rating of all four credit rating agencies in the world, adding that “everything on the map is not castles in the clouds, but something that we will realistically do,” concluded the Prime Minister.
