The police have recently received several reports from various complainants regarding the alleged irregularities related to the operation of the Slovenian Press Agency.
The pre-trial proceedings were initiated by the police on the basis of the report that was received first, on the 17th of March 2021. After that, the police received several other reports as well.
Based on these reports, the police are verifying the facts and circumstances regarding the grounds for suspicion of various criminal offences being committed, namely the abuse of position, betrayal and unjustified acquisition of business secrets, and harassment in the workplace.
Criminal investigators from the Ljubljana Police Department and the National Bureau of Investigation are conducting the pre-trial proceedings, and they will also inform the state prosecutor’s office of their investigation. However, they are unable to provide more information at this time, given the current stage of the proceedings.
