“They were jumping on tables, blowing whistles, and insulting everyone,” Jože Senica – Joc, an employee of the Slovenian Environment Agency, commented on Friday’s events at Kredarica – when the cyclists, led by Tea Jarc, brutally verbally attacked the Prime Minister Janez Janša, and the Minister of the Interior Aleš Hojs. As Senica also added, he has never seen anything like it and hopes that it will not happen again.
Friday’s incident at Kredarica, caused by Tea Jarc and her fellow protesters, is still causing quite a stir in public, and we are also finding out about new fragments of the story of what actually happened there. According to the Kredarica meteorologist Jože Senica, Jarc’s video did not show everything that happened and was even edited. As is known, Jarc, the president of the Youth Plus trade union, wanted to spin the narrative regarding the event in a way that would fit her, but fortunately, she did not succeed.
Lies are discovered sooner or later. and the truth always comes out, even in the case of the Friday’s protesters trying to provoke Prime Minister Janez Janša and Minister of the Interior Aleš Hojs. In the end, it turned out that Tea Jarc, the daughter of the important police officer Srečko Jarc, dealt with the matter very poorly, which is something that the public will likely not forget for a very long time.
Their way of communication and their insults belong in a barn
Meteorologist Senica describes that evening as a normal day at work when a friend warned him about the “circus” that is happening in front of the mountain hut. When he stepped outside, he saw Janša and Hojs and a shocking scene of a group of people that were surrounding them. He described their behaviour as suitable for a barn and not for Kredarica, where the rules and code of respect apply. “Their way of communications and their insults belong in a barn,” Senica said, adding that a security guard was also there, as the Hungarian Minister of Labour was also at Triglav with them.
Senica also mentioned that the group of Friday’s protesters was jumping on tables, blowing their whistles, and hurling insults as the Prime Minister and Minister, which he had never experienced before, and hopes that something like that will never happen again in the future. And all of this happened right below the symbol of Slovenia – Triglav.
Bad publicity for the cyclists
Senica also mentioned that what is shown in Jarc’s video is only a pale shadow of everything that really happened and that the camera did not even catch the worst of it. As he claims, the attack and the footage were even edited. We could only see what really happened if somebody else was filming the situation, which he regrets. At the end of our conversation, Senica also mentioned that this act cast “a really bad light on the cyclists, as such provocations, behaviours and attacks do not belong in the political space.” He also thanked the Prime Minister and Minister for their cold, collected reactions, as they did not allow themselves to be provoked, which was also the intention of Tea Jarc and the others.
