In Kosovo, The Results Of The Valicon Poll Are Causing Quite A Stir; Links With Gen-I And Berishaj Have Also Been Revealed

The Kosovo media has reported extensively on the pre-election poll by the Slovenian agency Valicon, which measured 52-percent support for the leading party of Albin Kurti (Self-Determination Movement). Valicon’s links to Gen-I and Martin Berishaj have also been exposed.

The Kosovo web portal Insajderi took issue with a recent poll conducted by Valicon in light of the upcoming parliamentary elections on the 9th of February this year. “Despite the fact that the poll was far from adhering to any professional parameters from the very first paragraph that “Self-Determination cannot be lost”, the connection of Zorko (head of Valicon) with the Gen-I energy company leads to a connection with Martin Berishaj, also paid by Gen-I,” they pointed out.

Erar disclosed the Gen-I transaction to Valicon

They went on to refer to the findings of our web portal, Nova24TV, from a year ago. We wrote that in September 2023, Golob’s former company Gen-I concluded a deal for 10,945 euros with Valicon, a company that measures public opinion. The Erar application for the portrayal of public money spending in the Republic of Slovenia showed that the payment was made in December of the same year; Gen-I paid Valicon 13,352.90 euros including tax.

The portal also pointed out that such financial bypasses can also be used to influence public opinion. Especially if one takes into account the fact that after leaving Gen-I, Golob appointed people who were loyal to him there. As a point of interest, they also highlighted an example of a comment by Zorko that has particularly stood out in the past. The latter had commented at the time of the big fall of Golob’s party, the Freedom Movement (Gibanje Svoboda), that the party would still win the elections, even though the Freedom Movement could be seen to be lagging far behind the leading opposition party – Slovenian Democratic Party (Slovenska demokratska stranka – SDS).

Kosovo readers are already familiar with Gen-I. In fact, Kosovo was quite upset by the affair of its Ambassador to Croatia, Martin Berishaj, the main actor in Gen-I’s allegedly controversial business dealings. Several suspicious money transactions, up to 80 million euros, were allegedly used by Gen-I to transfer money abroad and indirectly finance the political campaign of Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti. It is the latter who has a good chance of winning the election again, according to the latest Valicon poll.

The affair has been completely covered up in Slovenia, and parliamentary scrutiny has been blocked.
