As of Thursday, the 18th of June, Mojca Prelesnik – the former Information Commissioner – has taken over the management of the Slovenian Press Agency (STA). She is a person with no journalistic experience who has always held high-ranking positions within the cadre of the transitional left.
Prelesnik has made an incredible leap – her second five-year term as Information Commissioner ended on Wednesday, and as of Thursday, she is continuing her career as the Director of the Slovenian Press Agency. Previously, she was the Deputy Information Commissioner and Secretary-General of the National Assembly, among other positions.
Mojca Prelesnik was appointed by the Supervisory Board as the new Director of the Slovenian Press Agency with a five-year mandate in mid-April, after her predecessor, Igor Kadunc, resigned for personal reasons. In the meantime, Barbara Štrukelj had been running the agency as acting director.
