Anže Logar is the best candidate for President of the Republic since our very first free elections onward. All domestic intellectuals are aware of this fact, as well as foreign politicians from the so-called “nuclear countries” who worked with him successfully when he was still Slovenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. The latest to express support for him is the most important politician in Europe – Manfred Weber, as well as the most important and, at the same time, the largest group of European parties – the European People’s Party (EPP). Logar has also received the support of the Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs – and it is important to note that, at the moment, Ireland is one of the most successful EU countries. The only people who do not yet know, or do not want to know, that Logar is the best candidate for this position, are those who have not yet come out of the woods after those long-forgotten battles between their own (Russian) and the German-Italian form of fascism.
Logar thus justifies his role as the favourite of Europe and Members of the European Parliament, and the Liberals and Socialists are, of course, quietly hoping to get a candidate who has proved so competent that even the Dutch Socialist Frans Timmermans, who had previously had many doubts about the Janša government, mainly because of the lies with which he was fed by the Slovenian faction of socialists, led by Tanja Fajon, praised Logar extensively after the end of Slovenia’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In addition to Manfred Webber, whom Logar thanked on Twitter, the Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Simon Convey, also expressed his support in a special video. Logar wrote him a sincere thanks on Twitter.
And what about Logar’s opponent, Nataša Pirc Musar? Have you seen any eminent foreign people supporting her? No. She is supported by the stuffiest part of the reformed communists in Slovenia, who have reformed only to the extent that they have exchanged dictatorship for elections in a democracy where they have total control over the media and other institutions.
Milan Kučan, the penultimate Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, who is also a sworn Russophile, among other things, who thinks that Ukraine is to blame for being attacked by Russia, is one of the people who support Pirc Musar.
Another one is Danilo Türk, the infamous former President of the Republic, who has made a career out of sowing division in the country, including by awarding a state decoration to Tomaž Ertel, a member of the State Security Administration of Yugoslavia, who locked up the main players in the JBTZ affair. A former UN official, who was described by French diplomats in a secret dispatch as “a boring bureaucrat pretending to be an important diplomat.”
Urška Klakočar Zupančič, the failed judge whose ticket into politics was insulting the former Prime Minister Janša and glorifying the charlatan Marko Potrč, is another supporter of Pirc Musar’s. The woman who has so far shown herself to be completely incapable of holding office in state politics and who has broken protocol so many times that if she were a right-wing Speaker of the National Assembly, she would have been torn apart by media and “removed” a long time ago. But they will not do it because “she knows.”
And last but not least, Zoran Janković, Ljubljana’s corruption- and criminal-ridden Mayor, for whom “she knows” that he brutally took advantage of a desperate young mother, who could not even hide his erection at the reception of a young sportswoman.
So, who are you going to vote for, the candidate of Kučan, Türk, Klakočar and Janković, or the candidate of Europe?
