After a press conference of the March for Life initiative, a group of young women started to destroy the flags that represented unborn children. The event has not yet been condemned by any representative of the authorities.
In anticipation of Saturday’s gathering, the March for Life initiative organised an event in Ljubljana on Monday to commemorate the unborn children who lost their lives before birth.
“We have put up 190 flags, because that is the number of classes of children missing from Slovenian schools,” said Urška Soares Cankar, the initiative’s chairwoman, explaining that it is a scientific fact that when a male and a female sex cell unite, a new life is created. “It is only right that we also remember these children who have lost their lives.”
Resisting the authorities’ intentions in time
The march will take place on Saturday, the 7th of October, when participants will walk through the centre of Ljubljana at 9.30 a.m. In a short programme, the organisers will address the issue of abortion and the current issue of euthanasia of the elderly. “Since we defend life from conception to natural death, we could not fail to draw attention to this issue, too,” explained Urška Soares Cankar. She feels that it is necessary to warn people about the intentions of the authorities in time, and to also resist them.
This year’s rally will be held under the slogan “Life Is Awesome”, which aims to highlight that the right to life is a basic right that makes everything else possible. “Article 17 of the Constitution says that human life is inviolable,” explained Soares Cankar, also highlighting the articles that prohibit torture and guarantee the inheritance of unborn children. The initiative therefore wants this humanity to be recognised for all children, not just for those who are wanted.
The organisers hope that this year’s turnout will exceed last year’s, when between 3,000 and 4,000 people attended the rally.
An incident by the girls with no manners
After the presentation of the March for Life initiative, vandals visited the site of the unborn children’s memorial and started destroying the flags representing the unborn children. Apparently, the young girls were not taught by their parents not to destroy other people’s property and not to attack those who think differently from them. If this had been a parade by any of the organisations that support homosexuals, we would certainly see lots of condemnation from the media and all the highest echelons of power.
