Only a handful of Slovenians were invited to the recent inauguration of the new President of the USA, Donald Trump. Certain political sacred cows, such as the Prime Minister, Robert Golob, and the President of the Republic, Nataša Pirc Musar, were not among them. Both Golob and Pirc Musar had not received an official invitation to the inauguration, despite alleged diplomatic efforts. On the other hand, certain people who are not part of state politics were invited, including Metka Zorc, founder of the MC Medicor International Centre for the Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases. It is easy to imagine how great the resentment of a part of Slovenian politics is because of that. And we cannot help but wonder whether the extraordinary surveillance of the company Medicor is the fruit of this resentment.
A few days ago, the medical centre Medicor was subjected to extraordinary surveillance under the auspices of the Nurses and Midwives Association of Slovenia. The inspection allegedly revealed irregularities, according to media reports. Among other things, it is alleged that individual employees did not have the appropriate work permits. The extraordinary surveillance also found incomplete documentation, the death of a patient, etc.
Was there no cause for concern before Trump’s inauguration?
Of course, it is only right that any mistakes in the healthcare centre should be identified and corrected. However, the question arises as to why the extraordinary surveillance took place in the aftermath of the inauguration of the new President of the USA, Donald Trump. Prior to this, was the leadership of the Nurses and Midwives Association of Slovenia not concerned about the health of the patients?
Is extraordinary surveillance a form of revenge?
It is important to note that Marjeta Zorc, the founder of the MC Medicor International Centre for the Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases, was one of the few people from Slovenia who were invited to the recent inauguration event in the USA. On the other hand, Prime Minister Robert Golob and President of the Republic Nataša Pirc Musar were not invited. This raises the question: is extraordinary surveillance just a form of revenge? Zorc has known and been friends with Melania Trump‘s primary family (the Knavs family) for many years.
