Employees of the Ministry of Justice are apparently very unhappy with the way Minister Andreja Katič of the Social Democrats party (Socialni demokrati – SD) is running the Ministry. They have shown their rebellion by not expressing sufficient interest in attending the traditional New Year’s party.
The employees’ reaction to the cancellation of the gathering, which was scheduled for Friday, the 13th of December, shows that the lack of interest in the gathering with the management of the Ministry of Justice represents a “silent” rebellion by all employees and a clear reaction to the management.
They are demanding that this type of behaviour cease
“Since your arrival at the Ministry, we employees have been subjected to your inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour, bullying, humiliation, frequent verbal outbursts, professional contempt and unwillingness to engage in dialogue,” the employees explain, stressing that this silent resistance is a demand that the Minister stop this type of behaviour!
“Our next step will be a loud protest in front of the building of the Ministry of Justice,” said the Ministry of Justice employees when the New Year’s party was cancelled. The response was also forwarded to Prime Minister Robert Golob and the President of the Trade Union of Civil and Social Bodies of Slovenia, Frančišek Verk, for information.
It seems that the pressure on certain employees of the Ministry of Justice is escalating at an alarming rate, as responsibility for the recent Litijska court building affair continues to be shifted away from Finance Minister Klemen Boštjančič and the Prime Minister. We have managed to learn that one of the people investigated in the Litijska affair had his home broken into a few days ago. The hinges were ripped off the door and property damage was caused, which are clear signs of intimidation. All this is happening in the days leading up to the interpellation of Finance Minister Boštjančič, which is probably no coincidence.
It should also be recalled that a similar revolt by civil servants happened to another “sentsitive” Social Democrat, namely the then Minister for Culture, Dejan Prešiček. The latter allegedly carried out severe mobbing of his employees, even using a chauffeur, who subsequently committed suicide, to transport his personal belongings.
You can read the response of the employees of the Ministry of Justice in its entirety below:
“A RESPONSE
to the cancelled New Year’s party of the Ministry of Justice employees
Employees of the Ministry of Justice and the Probation Administration were invited to the traditional New Year’s party, which was scheduled for Friday, the 13th of December 2024. However, the party was CANCELLED due to insufficient interest!
Insufficient interest in the New Year’s party of the employees with the management of the Ministry of Justice is, as you know, a silent rebellion by all of us employees and a clear response to the dissatisfaction with your leadership. Since your arrival at the Ministry, we employees have been exposed to your inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour, shunning, humiliation, frequent verbal outbursts, professional contempt and unwillingness to engage in dialogue. We are engaging in this silent resistance to demand that you stop this type of behaviour now!
Our next step will be a loud protest in front of the building of the Ministry of Justice.
Employees of the Ministry of Justice”
