“Currently, only 59,169 unemployed people are registered with the Employment Service of Slovenia, which is the lowest in the history of Slovenia,” the government recently announced this very optimistic figure. The number even improved from the last time we reached a record low in terms of unemployed people – namely, in September 2008, 59,303 people were unemployed.
Slovenia is one of the countries that dealt with the economic crisis the best. As many as ten-anti corona legislative packages were adopted in order to help the economy and the people, and more than 2,400 infrastructure projects have given the Slovenian economy tremendous impetus. We also need to mention the personal income tax reform, which definitely helped, as well as the de-bureaucratisation and other measures important for the functioning of the Slovenian economy. Slovenia is thus finally becoming a country with the same conditions as the successful countries in the West.
Official data show that Slovenia recorded as much as 8.1 percent growth in gross domestic product, while the latest data on unemployment is even better than that from 2008. Namely, only 59,169 unemployed persons are currently registered at the Employment Service of Slovenia, which is a historically low number of unemployed people and the direct result of good government work and appropriate measures.
“One of the most important records in the history of Slovenia. Congratulations to Slovenian entrepreneurs and workers,” Prime Minister Janez Janša thanked all those who contributed to this exceptional result.
