Left-wing fundamentalists from the non-governmental organisation the 8th of March Institute (Inštitut 8. marec) disrupted an event with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, with banners in support of abortion and the terrorist organisation Hamas. The 8th of March Institute is linked to the foundation of the former President of the USA, Barack Obama.
On Monday afternoon, the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, began her two-day visit to Slovenia by meeting young people and representatives of the civil society. The visit is part of her tour of European Union Member States ahead of the European elections in June.
During her visit, the President of the European Parliament aims to reach out to young people in particular. She met them and the representatives of civil society on Tuesday, when she took part in a public debate entitled ‘Ask the President’. She spoke to young people about the challenges that the European Union is currently facing, the upcoming elections, and the importance of active citizenship.
The activists are getting more and more aggressive
But the event was disrupted by left-wing extremists, including those from the leftist NGO the 8th of March Institute, which the mainstream media are trying to sell to us as a progressive force, touching on all sorts of issues, and most recently launching a pro-abortion campaign from its headquarters abroad. And why did they decide to speak on this particular issue? Because the left is so hopeless and incapable of talking about the issues that would actually make our lives better. At the same time, they are aware that the European elections are approaching, where the projections show a strong victory for the right. The only thing left for them to do is to raise ideological issues. And by the way, abortion has been legal since 1952, however, the murder of unborn children is thankfully decreasing year by year. But that has not stopped the left-wing fundamentalists from using the culture-war agenda to fight the right.
Thus, the extremists from the 8th of March Institute stormed the public debate hosted by Roberta Metsola, a high-ranking guest from the European Parliament, and, in the style of modern-day eco-terrorists, displayed banners saying that Malta has the strictest legislation on the murder of the unborn in the European Union, where women can go to prison for having an abortion. And that an abortion is a fundamental human right. Other activists also called for sanctions against Israel, which, as we know, is fighting Hamas terrorism. So, the left-wing activists are becoming more and more like those from abroad we have seen on social networks, and their actions are becoming more and more aggressive in order to cause as much damage as possible and to get as much publicity as possible.
