“We did it. And we will continue to work hard for Slovenia. For Slovenia, which is moving forward. For Slovenia of free, successful and happy people. We are building that version of Slovenia. Because you deserve it. Because Slovenia deserves it,” said the Prime Minister of Slovenia and President of the Slovenian Democratic Party, Janez Janša, who addressed all citizens in an encouraging speech.
Prime Minister Janez Janša, this time also as the President of the Slovenian Democratic Party (Slovenska demokratska stranka – SDS), addressed the citizens in a speech ahead of the upcoming elections, thanking them, among other things, for the fact that we have successfully overcome the last two years, despite the crisis we faced.
At the beginning of his speech, Janša said that two difficult years are now behind us, in which, among other problems, many also faced the loss of loved ones, for which there are no words of consolation. “We did our best to save as many lives as possible,” said Janša, emphasising that the entire government team was trying its hardest in pursuit of this goal. He regrets that it was not possible to save every single life, “not here, nor elsewhere in the world.”
Knowing that this period was difficult for everyone, the Prime Minister thanked every single citizen for enduring it. “We tried to help every single one of you, which is why we adopted ten anti-corona legislative packages, as well as additional measures to mitigate the effects of the prices of energy rising,” he explained, adding that Slovenia has received the most aid per capita in Europe, including in terms of financial assistance. With this, Janša also emphasised the successful preservation of many jobs and the ability of communities to recover and develop.
“We did it. And we will continue to work hard for Slovenia. For Slovenia, which is moving forward. For Slovenia of free, successful and happy people. We are building that version of Slovenia. Because you deserve it. Because Slovenia deserves it,” the Prime Minister concluded his speech.
