“The announcement of the new government that they will introduce a new subject for the education of children, including on gender reassignment and sexual orientation, is a great threat to children,” Aleš Primc commented on the new coalition agreement and specifically the part that concerns education. Primc is urging parents of children to contact the Movement for Children and Families (Gibanje za otorke in družine) as soon as possible.
The coalition agreement of the Freedom Movement (Gibanje svoboda9, the Social Democrats (Socialni demokrati – SD) and the Left party (Levica), will be radically left and not very free, as it introduces a series of involuntary and harmful measures, such as the introduction of LGBT ideology in the education system.
According to the media outlet N1, the coalition agreement promises free meals to all pupils and students and partially changes the school curriculum. However, it does not merely touch on the digital skills but also brings about the introduction of content that will “address gender and other stereotypes in the name of building a more tolerant society.” They also predict zero tolerance for hate speech and discrimination, which will supposedly also be part of the school curriculum.
Primc: parents should stand up against this
We asked the expert Aleš Primc, the winner of two referendums on family legislation, what this means for Slovenian children. According to Primc, the schools’ main job is to complement the upbringing from home – and not to destroy it. “The announcement of the new government that they will introduce a new subject for the education of children, including on gender reassignment and sexual orientation, is a great threat to children,” Primc warned and explained that in the countries where this is already a thing, there has been a large increase in children’s demands for hormone sex change therapy.
The negative consequences of this kind of ideology in schools can be fatal for the development of children, so Primc called on all parents to organise and demand the elimination of these dangerous education practices. This will certainly happen in Slovenia as well. “We urge all parents to contact the Movement for Children and Families as soon as possible, where we will coordinate the activities for the protection of the rights of parents and children in schools,” Primc said.
