“What the future Prime Minister is saying is a lie, and if the Prime Minister is lying, this puts the entire government in a bad light and gives it bad credibility. I hope he does not lie in other areas as well,” said Ivo Boscarol, an entrepreneur and the father of Pipistrel, regarding the President of the Freedom Movement party (Gibanje Svoboda), Robert Golob. Boscarol recently donated 21 million euros to the Municipality of Ajdovščina for infrastructural development, and the Municipality will likely get an additional four million euros from him.
One of the most famous entrepreneurs in Slovenia, Ivo Boscarol, has warned in the past that with the announced tax on the entire property of every citizen comes a covert nationalisation, which will hit all Slovenians, but this is hardly being talked about. He was also critical of this on a recent episode of the show Tarča (Target) on the national television station, and this obviously angered Robert Golob, who accused Boscarol, among other things, of apparently not reading the coalition agreement at all.
“What Mr Golob said in your studio on Wednesday surprised me very much. Because he was literally lying. I caught him in a lie two times. He said that I had not read the coalition agreement,” Boscarol was critical in his comment for the 24ur media outlet, adding that he had actually read the coalition agreement several times, that he had prepared for the show Tarča, and that he merely told Slovenians what awaits them. “And then he lied a second time, when he said that I listen to the wrong people. I do not listen to the wrong people. I do not listen to him, nor anyone from his team,” Boscarol pointed out, adding that he also does not hang out with Miha Kordiš from the Left party (Levica). Namely, he found himself next to Kordiš in the studio, but only because the TV show host put him there. “What the future Prime Minister is saying is a lie, and if the Prime Minister is lying, this puts the entire government in a bad light and gives it bad credibility. I hope he does not lie in other areas as well,” the entrepreneur was critical of Golob.
Boscarol’s words, of course, carry a lot of weight, as he is not just an individual who has been latched on to the state budget their entire life or someone who worked in a monopoly company (like Golob in the Gen-I energy company), where it is difficult to assess profits and director performance. The father of the Pipistrel company proved that he cares about the local community when he announced that the Municipality of Ajdovščina will receive a big donation from him.
The local entrepreneurs Taja and Ivo Boscarol ensured that the Municipality of Ajdovščina will receive a total of 25 million euros. 21 million euros will be used for the development of infrastructure and have already been transferred to the municipal budget, and an additional four million will be provided when the location of the future aviation museum and science centre is determined. The agreement was solemnly signed on Tuesday, and the Municipality assures that they have already started to implement the agreed projects.
The 21 million euros which have already been transferred to the municipal budget are intended for the construction of a new health centre in Ajdovščina, a helicopter rescue centre, and horticultural landscaping of the city and its surroundings. According to the Mayor of Ajdovščina, Tadej Beočanin, some of the projects for the horticultural greening of Ajdovščina and the surrounding countryside have already been prepared. The Municipality will soon start drawing the one million euros that are intended for this purpose. “This year already, we can expect the start of additional plantings. The completion of this project will certainly come within the next two years,” he announced.
The public architectural tender, which will be announced at the beginning of the summer, will be carried out by the Municipality in order to implement the construction of a health centre and a pharmacy. They are planning to obtain the building permit in the middle of next year, as well as start construction, which is expected to be completed in 2025. According to the Slovenian Press Agency, a similar timetable will apply in the case of the construction of a helicopter centre.
This is not the last donation
In addition to the health centre and the pharmacy, a fire brigade and rescue centre and a new police station will also be built in the logistics centre. All rescue services will thus be united in one area of Ajdovščina. However, as the health centre will be relocated to the outskirts of the city, they hope to establish public city transport. Boscarol also assured that this is definitely not the last donation and that he also wants to provide funds for the purchase of a Slovenian company.
