On Tuesday, the EU-Western Balkans Summit began, which is the most important event of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. A delegation of leaders arrived at the Brdo Castle on Tuesday, which was then followed by an informal working dinner to discuss the EU’s role on the international stage in the wake of recent events in Afghanistan. Political leaders also talked about the security partnership between the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia – AUKUS, and the EU’s relations with China. The wives of the presidents and prime ministers attending the informal dinner also spoke about the covid-19 epidemic.
As part of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, the evening with the wives of the leaders of the Czech Republic, Belgium, Cyprus, and the European Council was hosted by the wife of our Prime Minister, Urška Bačovnik Janša.
The wives and the experts who joined them at the event, Dr Bojana Beović, Dr Kristjan Musek, and Dr Katarina Kompan Erzar, talked about the codvid-19 epidemic.
The evening, hosted by the wife of the Prime Minister, Urška Bačovnik Janša, ended with music and was enriched by pianist Peter Barbo, baritone Marko Erzar, and the Emona Jazz Quartet.
