A few days ago, the Slovenian public was upset by the nomination of the next Constitutional Court Judge who, if elected, would replace Marjan Pavčnik, who resigned from the post by requesting early dismissal. Dr Neža Kogovšek Šalomon does not have the proper legal background for this position, and her past performance shows that she will not be able to rule fairly on many issues. In particular, her attitude towards migration and the definition of the family is problematic, as shown by a recording of the 2017 debate shared online by psychoanalyst and political commentator Roman Vodeb.
“So you can get to know the left-wing turbo-activist Neža Šalomon Kogovšek, who is supposed to become the next Constitutional Court Judge,” the political commentator Vodeb wrote when he published the video.
The future activist Constitutional Court Judge thus spoke at the very beginning of the debate shown in the video about how she found it extremely positive that currently, there is a majority in the National Assembly and the political will to listen to the LGBT community and then went on to say that in the course of a research project funded by the Norwegian financial mechanisms (Soros?), she had found that there were 70 laws in Slovenia that allegedly discriminated against homosexuals. Her argument was answered by the recently defeated candidate for the position of Member of the Executive Board of the New Slovenia party (Nova Slovenija – NSi), constitutional lawyer Janez Pogorelec, who said that if 70 forms of discrimination were found on both the rights and duties of same-sex partners, then these 70 laws must be changed.
The future Constitutional Court Judge wanted to justify her support for a law that would change the male and female sexes into undefined sex 1 and undefined sex 2 as a kind of time-efficient solution that would not require the legislator to deal with the alleged 70 different cases of discrimination against homosexuals in Slovenian law.
She may not see the problems, but most of us do!
Her arguments were immediately answered by psychoanalyst Roman Vodeb, who said that even though the future Constitutional Court Judge might not see the problems with the eradication of gender identity, the majority of those who would be affected by these changes do. “This majority would like to say that it will not equate the two sexes, because the race Homo Sapiens on planet Earth has men and women. This is crucial for the development of moral discernment, sexual identity, sexual desire, taboo and incest. If the Oedipus complex is not resolved in the primary family, mentally disturbed children will come out of this primary family, calling themselves freaks,” the psychoanalyst explained to the audience.
Kogovšek Šalomon would prefer to ban referendums on the Family Code
When asked by the host of the show whether the Constitutional Court should have followed the case law from abroad, Kogovšek Šalomon replied that the Constitutional Court should certainly have followed the case law from abroad but that it would probably not go so far as to ban a referendum on the law. She mentioned that trends in other countries, such as Spain, where same-sex adoption is allowed, should be taken into account.
Is there any doubt left about the proposed Constitutional Court Judge having a strong bias towards fundamental socialist issues?
