The State Election Commission (DVK) at today’s session adopted the minutes on determining the outcome of the voting in the legislative referendum on the Act on Assistance in Voluntary End of Life (ZPPKŽ), which was held on November 23, 2025. In addition, the DVK adopted a decision to reject the objection from Srebrna Nit, the Association for Dignified Aging, and voter Bogdan Biščak, as well as the objection from a group of individual voters and members of the Srebrna Nit Association: Irena Žagar, dddr. Andrej Pleterski, dr. Dušan Keber, and dr. Igor Pribac.
As we have already reported, the group of euthanasia advocates was strongly surprised by the referendum result, as all polls indicated a convincing victory for the so-called “poisoning lobby.” The result not only surprised them but also shocked them.
The left, namely, claims an exclusive right to victory in elections and referendums. When a defeat occurs, they no longer recognize it. Therefore, they filed a complaint about the referendum result under the pretext that the referendum campaign was not fair. Today, there are no longer any doubts, as the State Election Commission rejected their complaint.
