“Just stay away from my bar. What this government is doing is a disaster, it’s unbearable to watch, it’s simply…” said a disappointed entrepreneur during the government’s visit to the Pomurje region.
During the government’s visit to Pomurje on Wednesday, local television broadcast a statement by a visibly dissatisfied and agitated local entrepreneur who firmly dismissed government representatives from his bar.
The incident occurred during the visit of Prime Minister Dr Robert Golob and his government team to the region of Pomurje, where the delegation began their visit with a regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia in Murska Sobota.
The entrepreneur, who runs a bar in Pomurje, literally chased the government delegation away from his bar. In the video, he said: “I just said it directly: just stay away from my bar. What this government is doing is a disaster, it’s unbearable to watch, it’s simply… I have no idea how they think they can survive this, but for businesspeople, for entrepreneurs, for us young people, because I have a few people employed, they are a disaster.”
He continued with accusations that the government was only coming to collect votes: “It’s obvious that they’ve only come here to gather some votes, and we’re not fans of that. We need a stable government, a strong government that will help our young entrepreneurs, as well as us personally, because I’m an entrepreneur, and we also have to survive in small towns. Then they come here to show off a little and “put on a show,” and that’s it. I just told them to move on, to go ahead, because we don’t need them here.”
The entrepreneur also highlighted the financial burdens, as the government does not provide any assistance, and entrepreneurs are required to pay taxes nonetheless, which are substantial, as well as other obligations imposed upon them.
“Our small economy is dying, but I hope that because we are one of those resilient and good ones, we will endure and find a way to survive. And these people should just go back to where they came from,” concluded the dissatisfied entrepreneur.
