Slovenian Member of the European Parliament Branko Grims has nominated Elon Musk for the Nobel Prize for his contribution to freedom of speech.
MEP Branko Grims announced that he had nominated the social network X owner Elon Musk for the Nobel Prize for his consistent support for the “fundamental human right” of freedom of speech.
MEP Grims believes Musk deserves the Nobel Peace Prize in 2025. He submitted his proposal on the 29th of January 2025, and thanked all his co-proposers and all those who helped him with this challenging project.
The web portal Visegrad24 summarised his message, adding that Grims was the first proposer. In light of this, it should also be noted that global media and social networks have tilted sharply to the left in recent years.
He has brought pluralism to the media and commentary space
In recent years, we have seen many attempts to stifle conservative views and commentary at every turn. Musk has managed to reverse the trend, including by buying the social network X, but also by publishing provocative commentaries on the global left and the woke ideology.
A big thorn in the side of the US Democrats
His efforts led the Democrats to want to imprison him and destroy him economically. They also accused him of being Vladimir Putin‘s best friend.
Key reasons for the nomination
The American billionaire is the one who, not only in the last year but in this millennium, has made the greatest contribution of all to the preservation of peace on this planet. MEP Grims went on to say that, if re-elected, the 53-year-old Musk would easily find himself in the company of, say, Martin Luther King or Nelson Mandela. He bought the X network with his own money and then opened it up completely, that is to say, to different opinions, to different information, thus allowing complete freedom of public expression.
That is why his contribution is so valuable, and that is why this proposal for the Nobel Prize for Mr Musk is so justified. In addition, MEP Grims also linked Musk to the election of Donald Trump, which he sees as a positive civilisational shift for the Western civilisation. This proposal was met with mixed reactions, however, with some seeing Musk’s actions as a major contribution to freedom of speech, while others expressed doubts as to the legitimacy of such a nomination.
