Shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday, police were informed that a vehicle was obstructing traffic on the Pot za Brdom road. A man was found dead in the car, riddled with bullet wounds, and it was clear he had died of gunshot injuries. According to our information, this man was a protected witness, Satko Zovko (formerly Kekić), in the trial against the Slovenian branch of the brutal Kavač clan.
“Today, a little before 1 o’clock in the morning, we were informed that there was a vehicle obstructing traffic on the road Pot za Brdom, and that an unresponsive person was found inside. According to initial information, it was established that the man died as a result of firearm injuries,” the police confirmed.
Police officers have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased. They reported that upon arrival at the location, they secured it and started taking urgent measures to trace the perpetrator. “The crime scene is currently being inspected, and the criminal investigators are conducting an intensive criminal investigation to establish all the circumstances of the crime against life and body,” they added.
Police officers also informed the public that the Brdo exit from the motorway in the direction of the first junction with Brdnikova street and vice versa is closed due to the inspection. Drivers are requested to follow their instructions and use alternative routes.
According to unofficial information, Satko Kekić was a protected witness in the trial against the Kavač clan, known for the most brutal treatment of its opponents.
The media reported in the past that the prosecutor in this case had given up the protection of the police because she no longer trusted them.
