The public has become accustomed to the idea that Tina Gaber is more than just a companion of Prime Minister Robert Golob in the same sense that Štefka was a companion of Milan Kučan. Tina Gaber plays a much more crucial role in the unfortunate government term led by her partner – remember how she appeared at internal ministerial meetings to impose a vegan menu, her involvement in agricultural policy, sabotaging the culling of capybaras, the “raid” on the Rožnik Zoo, where it is often whispered that she was behind it. Was she even behind the infamous speech that Golob made in front of a stunned international community?
Namely, during the Prime Minister’s address at the general debate of world leaders at the start of the 79th United Nations General Assembly, Golob directly called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the war and, bizarrely, to release the hostages, even though the hostages are being held captive by Hamas, which is also the sole perpetrator of the war. In his speech, Golob theatrically pounded the table in the style of the former Soviet autocrats.
What was Tina Gaber’s role in the infamous speech?
The fact that Tina Gaber played more than just the role of an observer in the disgraceful speech was evident from her reaction: “There are no words to describe how PROUD I am of him,” she wrote on social media. Unsurprisingly, Gaber liked the speech, which very clearly flirts with the Iranian branch of terrorism in the Middle East, and surprisingly, she went so far as to announce it on social media (adding an unfortunate picture of Golob during his speech).
In the past, Gaber has been very transparent and direct in her intentions, so it is easy to trace her “fingerprints” on any decision made by Golob or the government. Such an emotional response could be an indication that the Prime Minister’s companion had at least a collaborative role in writing the speech – in its pomposity, bombast and one-dimensionality, it is very reminiscent of an Instagram influencer looking for likes and new followers, and in this case, the “happy couple” seems to be looking for followers mainly in the far-left part of Slovenia, and less so in the international community.
Foreign partners want to know why Golob is behaving so bizarrely
Slovenian sources in contact with the US administration told us that our US partners are interested in why Golob is behaving so bizarrely, or what the end game of such a policy is.
Some will say that Golob wanted to stir up the domestic public so that there would be as little talk as possible about the government going into debt for almost two extra billion and increasing the salaries of officials, but it is quite possible that – as so many times before – there is no end game to this at all. It is entirely possible that Golob and his partner merely wrote an “Instagram post” filled with empty emotions.
Gaber wants to make Golob an Instagram star
It is worth mentioning that Gaber brought a team of Instagram influencers into the Prime Minister’s team, who have since been trying to turn “our Robi” into a viral internet star, but are not succeeding at this at all.
It is also important to note that in April this year, he published an Instagram “photoshoot” at a seaside spot he claimed was the Slovenian coast, but then it turned out that it was not the Slovenian coast at all, but the Prime Minister was supposed to have filmed his “feel good” video on the beach below the Savudrija Kempinski hotel near Crvenem Vrh – i.e. in Croatia, close to Slovenia.
