The “woke” agenda, with the help of left-wing activists and the promoters of its ideology, is spreading into all spheres. Just as we could see not so long ago at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, we can also see that here, in our country. Why else would the President of the Republic attend a round table entitled “Empowering Women in Sport” when Slovenia has always had – and still has – some of the top female athletes?
Petra Majdič, Tina Maze, Ilka Štuhec, Janja Garnbret and many other Slovenian female athletes are still regularly ranked among the world’s top athletes. They achieved this on their own and did not need the help of politicians and the President, who apparently also want to politicise sport in any way they can.
In light of this year’s “woke” Olympic Games, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, has informed the public that she will be attending a round table entitled “Empowering Women in Sport,” which will be organised by the Slovenian Olympic Committee at the Slovenian House. Nataša Pirc Musar, who is also a member of the “Ona ve” (She knows) association along with other self-proclaimed feminists, has apparently decided to “politicise” Slovenian sport, too. Which is very much in line with this year’s Olympic Games.
The empowerment of women has been one of the main themes since the Left party (Levica) came to power, and above all, the purpose of their actions is in line with the agenda of cultural Marxism, which is easiest to follow in the West. Ironically, they promote feminism and the role of women in society, while at the same time promoting men’s participation in women’s sports for the sake of “equality” and the promotion of “transideology.” The most famous example of this, and one of the first, was that of William Thomas, who was initially allowed to compete with women – and who, of course, won – thus depriving women of years and years of effort in that discipline, because he was more prepared due to his biological predisposition.
Judging by the opening ceremony, this year’s Olympic Games are, for many people, just an extension of the “woke” Eurovision and the Pride Parade. Thomas Jolly, who was in charge of the “creative” part of the opening, made sure that the theme was in line with the themes that the Western left has been pushing for years – LGBTQ ideology, “anti-Christianity,” “quasi-feminism,” and other branches of cultural Marxism. It was immediately clear that this year’s Olympic Games are not about sport, and many believe that this is an absolute politicisation of what was once considered to be “one of the greatest sporting events.”
The importance of women for the political left is demonstrated by the fact that the Olympics will also be attended by representatives of the LGBTQ community. According to the Human Rights Campaign, the US Olympic team roster has revealed at least 29 athletes from the LGBTQ+ community, most of them playing basketball or rowing. A record 186 LGBTQ athletes participated in the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and at least 144 are competing this year. This year’s newcomers include Kayla Miracle, an Olympic wrestler, and Nico Young, America’s first gay Olympic athlete.
When they should speak up, they remain silent
It should be noted that the United Nations recently held a special conference on Afghanistan, which is facing an extremely serious problem in the area of women’s rights. Slovenian political feminists rarely, if ever, speak out on this issue. When the event was announced, and the call for support for women in Afghanistan was made, Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon was in a good position to make a significant impact on the development of women’s rights in the world, but she did not respond, despite the fact that she announced that she would lead a feminist foreign policy before the elections, with the explicit aim of empowering women and girls. The President of the country could have also protested publicly at the time, but she remained silent.
