This Is Like How The Pogrom Against The Jews Began: With The Announcement Of The Strike At The National Media Outlet Came Calls For The Lynching Of Some Journalists And Executives

“First, they drew the Jews as vampires. Then they built Dachau, Treblinka, and the gas cells. First, they banned the entrepreneurs and democrats and called them exploiters and traitors. Then came the Krimske caves, Teharje and Kočevski rog. Let’s stop the wild leftists,” Janez Janša wrote in response to the announced strike at the national media outlet, Radio-Television Slovenia, where individual journalists and RTV management were pictured as vampires.

On Monday, a strike was held at Radio-Television Slovenia. of course, it was only a small number of mainly left-wing journalists that went on strike, who would like to see the public television be shaped according to the wishes of socialism or some other similar nonsense.

All news programmes, including the shows Dnevnik (“Daily News”) and Odmevi (“Echoes”), as well as sports and culture programmes, were “blacked out” on the day of the strike. There was no new content published on the MMC web portal, and the Teletext was down. On RTV Slovenia’s radio stations and regional centres, the content was also adapted to the strike. The entertainment programme broadcast repeats of their previous programmes, the web portal E-Maribor reported.

They should get their employment record books, be let go, and create their own media outlets
Journalist Bojan Požar spoke up on Twitter, in response to the strike, writing the following: “On the occasion of today’s strike (of one of the three trade unions) at RTV Slovenia, which is not a real strike, but more than obviously just a political performance – at our expense, of course. They should get their employment record books and be bid goodbye. They should create their own web portal(s), their own media outlets, and do whatever they want there.”

Meanwhile, the Director of TV Slovenia, Uroš Urbanija, commented on the announced strike in an interview, sharing what the public RTV is committed to with the following words: “Just to be clear: tomorrow’s strike at RTV Slovenia is not really a strike – it is a political rally. In case anyone was wondering whether or not to attend this political event put on by some of my colleagues. Unfortunately, this is disastrous for the credibility of RTV. Thank you to all who will continue to work tomorrow, in the service of the public, despite the pressures.”

The fascist-like announcement of the lynching of five journalists and members of the RTV management team also shocked other Twitter users. One of them wrote: “Yes. Let’s demonise individuals. Fuck you with these tricks. These things lead to violence. No sane person can support such public discourse and iconography. Whoever supports this, please, unfollow me. This is where I draw the line. Enough of this. yuck!”
Another user shared his suggestion of rescheduling the information show Panorama for this time slot, as “people are used to watching a news programme.”
And Žiga Turk wrote that “I support these five. As I will always support those against whom the flushed crowd will roar.”
