We recently learned that the current director of the Slovenian Press Agency (Slovenska tiskovna agencija – referred to as the STA) has supposedly found a new job. According to our source, Veselinovič is supposed to become the director/super-editor of the media tycoon Martin Odlazek’s centralised editorial office in Vevče. As the STA recently reported, the second term of the current director, Veselinovič, expires on the 31st of December 2020, and he has been in the position since 2009.
Technically, this is how the situation will supposedly work: Bojan Veselinovič’s journalistic team will be providing content for the tycoon Martin Odlazek’s entire media empire. Each of his media outlets will supposedly only have one or two individual local journalists left, while everything else will be centralised in Vevče. This is said to be an open trade with the political left.
Odlazek has arranged a left-wing editorial policy for the left in exchange for judicial inviolability and state financial support for his media empire
In exchange for the “ideologically correct” content that will be presented in all of his media outlets, the left supposedly offered two things to Odlazek – that he will remain free forever and that the state will provide financial support for his printed media. According to our information, the well-known “liquidator” Dejan Karba, a former employee of Delo and Dnevnik, who is also a member of the Social Democrats, is also expected to work in the super-editorial office. We sent a couple of press questions to director Veselinovič, and we are still waiting for the answers.
We have previously already reported on the controversial business of the STA director Veselinovič several times – including the fact that our editorial office received information about Veselinovič’s meeting with the media tycoons – Bojan Petan and Odlazek, and with the owner of Ninamedia, Nikola Damjanić. They were supposedly discussing the collecting of grants for the defence of the STA. This manoeuvre was supposedly proposed by the lawyer Stojan Zdolšek.
